Domestic Applicants

You should possess or expect to have received before the beginning of classes the required qualification from a U.S. school accredited by a regional accrediting agency for High Schools, Higher Education, Colleges, or Universities.

You may be required to upload unofficial transcripts with the application for our or a collaborating church or organization's initial review. Official transcripts of all school and college-level work will be required if admitted to programs requiring such transcripts. Official transcripts must be in sealed envelopes as issued by the school(s) you have attended. Request a current transcript from every post-secondary school that you have attended, including community colleges, summer sessions, and extension programs.

International Applicants

You should possess or expect to have received before the beginning of classes the required qualification from a non-U.S. school accredited by a regional accrediting agency for High Schools, Higher Education, Colleges, or Universities.

If you are a graduate of an academic institution outside the United States, you should hold a diploma or degree equivalent to a U.S. High School Diploma, bachelor's, or post-bachelors degree. International Evaluators in the Admissions Office will determine the equivalency of diplomas or degrees.

You may be required to upload unofficial transcripts with the application for our or a collaborating church or organization's initial review. Official transcripts of all school and college-level work will be required if admitted to programs requiring such transcripts. Official transcripts and academic records must be in or translated into English and provided in sealed envelopes as issued by the school(s) you have attended. Your academic records should include official evidence of the award of your degree and or additional documents that verify the degree conferral. For information about the documents required for an initial review of your application, please contact the program department you are applying.

Evidence of English Language Proficiency

If you reside in and are applying from countries/regions in which the official language is not English, you are required to submit official evidence of English language proficiency. This requirement applies to applicants from Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Latin America, the Middle East,  Israel, the People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, most European countries, and non-English-speaking countries in Africa.

If you have completed at least one year of full-time academic course work with passing grades of C or better in residence at a recognized U.S. institution, you do not need to submit an English language proficiency evidence. Instead, submit or upload an unofficial transcript from the recognized U.S. institution.

Letters of Recommendation

You must submit at least three—personal, professional, and ministerial—letters of recommendation, from the following recommenders

  • A relative, who knows you well and can speak to your long time desire and commitment to learn, grow, and serve in communities and God's Kingdom
  • A colleague, teacher, or mentor who can speak to your intellectual capacity, ability, and dedication to develop the mind and improves on skills.
  • A minister, pastor, or church administrator whom you have served with or under that can speak to your willingness, spirituality, and hunger to work in God's Vineyard for advancing His Kingdom on earth. If you do not have a church/pastor contact the Admissions Department to discuss other options.

Be sure to inform your recommenders of the application deadline. Your recommenders are asked to give their personal/official impressions of your intellectual ability, aptitude, professional skills,  character, commitment, dedication, quality of your previous work and potential for future productive scholarship, and even your demonstrated desire for God's Kingdom learning and advancement.

As an applicant, you may waive the right to inspect your letters of recommendation voluntarily. To waive access to your letters, complete the waiver section of the Letter of Recommendation. We may verify the authenticity of academic letters of recommendation with the recommender.
